Fred Baker is the founder
and CEO of Baker Group International, LLC, an
international consulting firm for Middle Eastern, Asian and American trade partnerships
connecting American trade value with international partners. BGI was formalized in 2005 out of Central Asian
partnerships that were capitalized in 2002. In 2006 BGI grew fourfold in capitalization and five times in cash
flow. Agricultural products and hard
metals trade and processing in Central Asia have defined BGI's core activities
since 2002. In 2006 Middle Eastern power
generation and land development partnerships joined BGI's Central Asian trade
activity.
Also, Fred Baker is the
founder and Board Chair of Baker Installations,
Inc., a $30 Million, 500 employee, telecommunications service provider in
twelve states. Baker Installations’ technicians service over 20,000 homes and
businesses every week. We Solve Installation Problems in the 'First 100 Feet'
of broadband technology. Spanning decades-long
relationships with blue chip clients has established Baker Installations' service
as a benchmark standard for cable television customers for 30 years.
Before entering the broadband industry as a business
developer he spent time as a life & disability income field underwriter
1975-76; a cable TV tech and later manager for JHP, Inc. 1972-74 (now owned
by oldest son, Wade Baker). Fred was
an Installer/Tech 1970-1972 and again 1976-1979. Since 1986 Fred has developed
various trademarked processes including The Baker Installations Management Training
Program™.
In years 1984 and 1985 Inc. Magazine awarded Baker
Installations the “Inc. 500” Award for “Fastest Growing Privately Owned, Companies”;
in 1999 Arthur Andersen awarded BI “Best Practices” Award for Motivating and
Retaining Employees; and in year 2000, Fred was runner up for Entrepreneur of
the Year Award for Pittsburgh.
Mr. Baker has served the Pennsylvania Cable and Telecommunications Association, the Allegheny Regional Asset District Board of Directors, which distributes over $60 million of taxes annually to regional cultural projects; and the Governor’s conference on Small Business1998. His commitment to “making a difference” has been seen as chair of the Board of Trustees for Allegheny Institute, a prestigious regional think tank that spearheaded change from the 3 county commissioner form of government
